Going all the way
I finally made it to yoga and my body was screaming for the neglect and abuse I have put it through over the last few weeks. But also my mind was screaming for some sorting out of things as well. The theme – moderation. Which is not as down pat as it sounds. See moderation, finding your balance, desiring a center, usually comes from pushing the envelope too far. On vacation it was empty thoughts, during my normal days it is too many thoughts. Neither is a place to dwell so my body and mind push me to move center.
A boss of mine from years past sent this interesting address to the Harvard Business School graduating class. If our quest is happiness in all areas – in work, with family, in life, then maybe there is a simple road map to get there no matter how things may seem to appear.
So moderation is finding the midline, but if we didn’t spend our days pushing the envelope we’d never stretch ourselves outside of our core, we just have to ensure we have a core to bounce back too.
