Things that make you say huh?
The church on the corner of Canal and Jeff Davis has on the marquee: VAGINA MONOLOGUES ON SUNDAY.
The thousandth email about the Louisiana Landmark’s Society Crepuscule Concert – no matter how many times I read it and say it in my mind, the word just grosses me out – Crepuscule – why that name, GROSS! Use gloaming, a much more user friendly and evocative name for the same thing.
Is Loca loca because she was named Loca or is she loca and therefore Loca was a good choice?

Rachel,
That is my church, First Grace United Methodist. One of the most progressive and diverse churches in the country. There are several V-DAY NOLA activities, but the proceeds from the Howling Wolf’s show on Saturday night, and the matinee, at 2:00, on Sunday afternoon are dedicated to Hagar’s House. Hagar’s House is one of FGUMC’s sponsored endeavors. It is a temporary home for up to eight women, with a room for mother and children, without a home. This is such an important place to help women get back on their feet. If you have a chance to attend either one, I urge you to participate. Many of the women at Hagar’s House are victems of violence against wome and girls.

Hi M – I always love the marquees they put up. I’m actually headed to Franklinton to visit my aunts and uncles this weekend. And was thinking of you the other day when I went to take a flat tire in that resulted in three new tires and so I walked down to Liberty Kitchen and was going to call you to join me as I had an hour FREE for a change and sadly it was closed that day so I wound up chasing my tail instead.
