I spoke to D last night at L’s house because he’s a contractor he told me what to do with the whole rubber roof terrace floor decking issue. He said do the torch down but have someone very experienced do it because it can burn down your house (Twickler), then glue the sleepers to the rubber mat going parallel to the house and then screw the deck platform to the sleepers perpendicular to the house. The sleepers go every 16 inches. And use elastamer not tar to glue the sleepers. Wala – one waterproof deck.
L cooked steak and veges – a healthy dinner he called it – and made again, the most delicious margaritas – watermelon and ginger – yum – we had lots of them and then headed to Frenchmen Street where it seemed like we were having more fun back at the house so we came back and got in the hot tub – god help his neighbors because we were having an uproarious time. D&A are finishing up their house in Broadmore, which naturally took on water. They also have 24 rental units around the city they have been tending to as well. I can’t imagine having one rental unit – the LaLa suffices for any kind of real estate I need to own or inhabit.
