Taking flight

This morning I woke and within a few minutes the Cabrini bells were ding donging. I finally have been getting to sleep at normal time for me – 10 to 10:30 is almost always what my body and time clock crave. And up at 5:45 am has been the norm for a long time. These hours have always worked well for me.

Loca and I went through the park this morning, swiftly because it is cold. In the confines of City Park, all of the birds were in flight – the pelicans, herons, geese, ducks, egrets, ibis, seagulls – even the swans were gliding swiftly across the lagoon. I have to believe they get cold too because why were they all flying around this morning?

We made our way back home and at each place where Loca has seen a squirrel before, she stopped and hopped thinking she might see one today. Ingrained lunacy.
