The dog days of summer
Just around dusk, T and I and Loca went for a walk around the bayou. We first stopped by Swirl and then made our way to Desaix and back around. The ducks were plentiful with a summer hatching of 10 ducklings. The heat had gone down a few degrees with the impending storm rolling in. The light was perfect as only the gloaming can offer up.
We walked and spoke in terms of our future – our family life together – our vision of what old age would look like – and for reasons that I could never imagine before – I was one with that future and wished for time enough and health for all of us to enjoy what I see before us.
