My Gift is You

Since Tin was able to write, I’ve asked him to write me about his favorite day, our best trip, and to write me a letter about what he loves – and this has been his gift to me for my birthday or Hanukkah.

This year, he said he wrote a speech for me. There were several attempts that I caught on video, all bloopers till today.

Here is his SPEECH.

Today was one of those days, the sun warming the chill in the air, the hammock beckoning, and as always running short of time and short of years too.

Rare is the moment where you feel joy for a moment, sad for how fast other moments are moving, tight chested for all the tension that the present makes with your past and future, all in the same breath cycle.

    Dear Tin,

You are indeed getting older, but already, you’re so much wiser that other kids your age. I can see your beautiful soul shining through in that O-so-cool video… what a wonderful tribute to your life with your mom! I was moved to tears as I watched it, even got goosebumps all over. Very touching.

I’ve been following your journey ever since Rachel became your mom, so I kind of feel like an old aunt from Montréal, haha. In all honesty, I’m very proud of the great human being you’ve become and truly hope we’ll get to meet in the very near future… you, me, AND your mom. 🙂

Till then, keep shining your Light!

Mudd – so hard to believe you and I have been in this digital world for as long as we have – through pre Tin and post Tin – it’s been a helluva ride. So much to be grateful for, but best of all has been your voice through the invisible wires in many ways nudging, encouraging, supporting, acknowledging, collaborating, consternating, and sometimes just driving by in a love van. Much love to you sister, R
