We don’t have big hair in New Orleans

G and I walked into the Anne Fontaine boutique – my favorite shirt designer – while we were in NY. The sales clerk asked where we were from and we both said New Orleans. She said and I quote – “Really! God you don’t have big hair.”

To which I replied – “New Orleans is the most European city in the United States. Why would we have big hair?”

Last night when I was driving my European boys around in Blue, they marvelled at the beauty of this city and when we arrived late in the Quarter at Cafe du Monde to have our beignets and coffee, I could have sworn we were not in America.

That sales associate is rude! How can she say that to someone. Such a stereotypical remark. I think I would be offended if someone said that to me… but then again, I visit my hair stylist when I get the chance so I don’t think I wouldn’t get those kind of comments… especially if I’m getting my hair cut ideas from “Shear Genius”. It’s a show that airs on Wednesday at 10pm on Bravo. Have you ever heard of or seen that show? It’s such an amazing show. Right now, they’re giving away a trip to NYC for a full make-over. I know this because I work with them. Check out http://condenast.eprize.net/alluresheargenius/?affiliate_id=1d. Good Luck!
