Rachel’s Road Home
I gave notice at the Can Company yesterday and plan to be in my house by end of February – which is 22 months after the closing and renovation started. Today Justin is hanging the shutters inside the front windows. Dave and Steve are putting in the foundation for the marble slab. Giovanni is touching up paint all throughout the house.
Tomorrow Mr. Pieri comes back to remeasure for the slab and it could be up to 8 weeks before the slab counters are installed – but I’m hoping that is a way over estimate and that they are in in 4 weeks like a friend of mine’s were. I know that I have to go pick out the Carrara after this measurement, so from there the clock will be ticking.
In another part of the city, Chris Rose has been interviewing a few actors from Christopher Guests’ new movie “For Your Consideration” – Harry Shearer and Jennifer Coolidge both call New Orleans home in some form or fashion – Shearer said of New Orleans – “It’s the only place where I feel comfortable in my own skin.”
And I couldn’t say it any better. I’ll be in the LaLa soon, in New Orleans, and me and my skin will be very comfortable thank you very much.
