2007 feels – so far – like heaven
Last night, the champagne was flowing and the table was spilling over with scrumptious food – ham biscuits, beef stroganoff, brownies – on the stereo there was awesome music to dance to – people to dance with – I’d say the only thing that was less than perfect was no kiss at midnight – made me pout – but really only for a few minutes – then G forced me to walk to her house to burn an Abba CD, which really made me pout – milk punch in the wee hours – then I woke to another great day – twice – filled with running around and playing tourist with TL and G in New Orleans – TL using Arlene’s dog blanket as his cape since it was chilly – we listened to brass bands on the river, had Pimm’s Cup in the Napoleon House courtyard, beignets at Cafe du Monde, cocktails in the Seance room at Muriel’s, where we lounged on red sofas and caught up with Ricky, my ex brother-in-law (Marriage #1), then sushi at Wasabi in the Marigny. What fun was had – a 24-hour period that I would do all over again (well, maybe add a kiss at midnight to make it perfect).
