Flower rode in on a windstorm
My friend and colleague Flower came in with her 9 month old daughter in the midst of gale force winds. We’ve been busy catching up and catching spit up together. Today we ran over to UAL while the babies slept and T1 stayed home. UAL is a designer store marked down to nothing and they always have very interesting clothes. We opted for the dressing room together because there was only one and the clerk said, “Mother and daughter?”
It struck me as odd because I have never realized the 20 year difference between us. Ever. Not because I don’t know I’m 50 but because I met Flower when she was very young but she was always older than me. You know how Carl Jung was saying that you have the morning and afternoon of your life. Well Flower started in the afternoon. Some souls do that.
Who was it that said friends are god’s way of apologizing for your family. Truer words were never spoken.
