Fertile ground

Today Michelle was back at yoga and I was back at yoga. We began our practice by chanting 108 times the Sanskrit, “Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu” (May all beings everywhere be happy and free) in prayer for the people of Haiti and their hard times ahead.

There are people who believe that December 2012 is the end of the Mayan calendar and perhaps the end of life. There are some who believe that destruction and negative energy will speed up as we approach this December date but then afterwards poof a new mind set will supplant the dated mind set that we have all been living under. Some people believe all these natural disasters are leading up to this transition of consciousness period.

Sounds a lot like Y2K – a bunch of hooey.

Haiti suffered an earthquake and those people need help. Just like Katrina devastated our city not because New Orleans was suffering an end of days cosmic purge but more like bad weather and bad government were in bed together and the result was a flood of biblical proportions.

Today in yoga, I had another out of body experience. We chanted 108 times that all creatures be happy and free. We did a challenging practice to empathize with the suffering of Haiti and its people. We ended more whole than we entered.

I ran into two friends leaving – we haven’t seen each other in a while – in the quick catch up we learned that each of us had gone through a rigamarole over the past year and that we were all on the other side. Our consciousness altering began already. Those who seek a date on the calendar to have their epiphany might find they missed the one that already happened.
