Backstreet Cultural Museum
Lexi and Tin and I went to go see Robert and the Mardi Gras Indian costumes at the Backstreet Cultural Museum the other day. Tin was having none of it.
This is a rare treasure here in New Orleans to go see the collection of suits that are so intricate and elaborate and on Fat Tuesday the real Mardi Gras happens on the blocks surrounding this museum. For a nominal fee you can sign up to be a member and receive email lists of when the second line parades are happening. It’s a cultural resource that should not be missed.
