Piecing together a quick synopsis of your life to date
In the South, we have a saying, never say anything in one word that you can say in two, never call anyone one name that you can add a nickname or second part, and for goodness sakes, stay away from one syllable words – add an extra vowel or stretch the one you are given out for some good old fashion hick charm.
Well, that said, we are putting together a seven page book of our life to send to prospective birthmothers. This birthmother is going to get a lot of books – from white, hetero, young, rich parents and then they are going to get ours. How do you sum up your life so that someone picks you to parent a child?
Wow, is all I got to say. I downloaded an open source page layout program called Scribus and have spent my head down into it trying to layout the book so it looks pretty – could be I’m avoiding what has to go in the book – who am I? Who are we? Are supposed to answer that in seven pages?
