Simple pleasures await

We’re getting to that point in the year in New Orleans where the heat makes you lazy and only hurricanes give you anxiety. So now it’s a matter of finding out how to enjoy the dog days. I envision more trips to the lake and maybe even the beach with the dogs. The Ogden Southern Museum has some wonderful line ups – Tim Gautreaux on the 13th and Ellen Gilchrist in July. We had friends over for dinner last night and made Coconut and Lime Shrimp over risotto – big yum and I am grateful for that wonderful tree I bought when I first moved in that produces kaffir lime leaves (now planted in the yard).

When I walked Loca this morning, the heat was already intense and I have changed from my baseball cap to my wide brimmed straw hat to try to stave off the sun – we walk slower – my thoughts move slower – time hopefully drones slower – and so here it is, summer.
