There’s no magic in the moon

Yesterday morning, my neighbor had picked some fresh blackberries and decided to make some daiquiris. Our house guest had made a big pot of salmorejo and we had a stuffed artichoke from the Green Market. I went and picked up my mother and brought her over to see Arlene and have lunch with all of us.

I have a good life, good friends, good food – my mother said that when Arlene goes, she’s going to take a piece of her heart with her. That’s how I feel, there’s no magic in the moon right now – I’m just losing a piece of my heart.
