Lessons in Life
My ex father-in-law said something that struck me once when we were out back looking at a big crater he had dug in the yard – he was musing about the crater and when he actually might get around to planting that enchanting garden he had originally dug the hole for and he said, “Sometimes it’s better to think about doing something than actually doing it.” So many things in life can be boiled down to that one sentence.
Another lesson I learned was from my ex – that inaction could ultimately lead to the same goal as action, and save a lot of fretting. I have applied this lesson many times when my natural call to action was going to lead to consequences – ones that I would have to be the one to shoulder.
Other lessons in life have been self-taught such as morning brings with it a certain clarity not found at other times of the day, there are things in life that fall in the “whatyagonnado” category, and that no matter what you think you know, there is always more to know.
