Some good news to end the day on
On my way home from Pilates, I stopped in Cork & Bottle and there was Jon Smith, who has returned from Baton Rouge to claim his store back and his rightful home. I was looking for some Tecate and he had it, and he also remembered the Pinot Gris he had found me the year before the storm – when I was stocking up my wine cellar in my redneck rejiggered fridge. Meanwhile, post-storm all my 2001 Bordeauxs lost, all my yummy Pinot Gris gone bad, not to mention the Eisle Araujo, the beautiful St. Clement Star Cabs, the magnum of Silver Oak – gone. The good news is they keep making wine is what I hear – so for now, John, welcome back to the neighborhood – keep the Tecate and Pinot Gris coming.
