Having fun
Tin and I went to the Music for All Ages brass band in Perserverance Hall in Louis Armstrong Park where Sunpie Barnes has taken a shine to Tin; Bruce sat Tin on his lap and played drums and then played piano with him while the band was belting out Lil Liza Jane and Jambalaya.
Then we went over to Canal Place to pick up some lipstick and Tin said he wanted to go to the French Quarter so we walked on the Moonwalk and saw the steamboat paddling down old man river and then we stumbled upon the St. Augustine Band playing in front of Jackson Square – overheard: “That’s a high school band? No way.”
Yeah way.
And then we wandered into Stanleys on the corner of Jackson Square where a giant tootsie roll was de-costuming and there seemed to be much more psychics than I’ve ever noticed in the past and we wanted pancakes and juice but the wait was a half hour and luckily I had the the Starfalls ABC app on my new iPhone so crisis averted. The Quarter was bustle bustle with people enjoying the great weather, the free music, and again, I said to myself, what a wonderful world.
