The real deal

Yesterday evening I walked down to a friend’s house who was hosting a meet and greet with Clare Jupiter who is running for Civil District Judge. Her name alone is memorable, but she won me over by how she described her values, in talking about how she mentors young attorneys she said she emphasizes not the singular case but all the relationships involved whether it is the people or law or system or all combined. It’s the old butterfly in the Amazon theory that when it beats its wings, China catches a cold – we are all interconnected and once you begin to operate your daily life with that understanding, perspectives change.

Build a company or sell a company, they each come with long tendrils that ripple across a wide swath of people and places and things with consequences that will not be known in the short-term and can only be understood in the long-term.

Clare Jupiter is the real thing – I’ll vote for her.
