Pop Up Jazz Brunch

This Sunday (23 Oct.), Evan Christopher teams up with Clever Wine Bar for the first ever “Pop-Up Jazz Brunch” 11am-3pm (music from 11:30-2:30). A special menu prepared by regional star, Chef Bart Bell (Crescent Pie & Sausage, Huevos) and a brunch cocktail menu with “Bloody Mary Bar” prepared by Clever’s own Tony “The Juicer” DiMunno will compliment the music, which promises not to be the ordinary jazz brunch fare. Throwing down with Evan are featured guests, Matt Lemmler, James Singleton, and Herman LeBeaux. Families are welcome and there will be a short neighborhood presentation by Re-Bridge who is raising money for the renovation of the bridges on Bayou St. John. Clever is located at 3700 Orleans Avenue in the American Can Building. $20/person includes first specialty brunch cocktail. No advance reservations, parking is ample but seating space is limited. For more information, please call 504.383.3227

    Hi Rachel,

Heard a very sad news from Jon today of you leaving us.

Though I never shared with you so far, I wanted to let you know today that I follow your blogs quite a lot. Not quite regularly – but definitely when I am too sad or when I want some motivation. So, you have been an inspiration to me in some sense through your blogs and I am amazed with the kind of charity work you do; which I have heard from many at OTR.

OTR will miss you. I will continue to read your blogs more regularly now. Wish you all the best for your Plan B. Hope I get to meet you some day.

    Love,
    Sreevathsa

Sreevathsa – thank you so much for your kind note. It was difficult to have the conversation with Jon mostly because he’s a friend and I have so many friends at OTR that I am sad to lose them. I hope that is not the case and I will be able to keep in contact with all the wonderful people I have met at this company. I am one day coming to India – on that I am sure – and we will meet in person. Unless you are coming here to New Orleans anytime soon.

Thanks for reading my writing and glad you find it for the most part optimistic – I have had a few people (some strangers) come to me and tell me they have found inspiration here and if I died today this would be my greatest achievement.

    Lots of love, R
