On the trip out the door and on to Spain, we were seriously considering having to sell the LaLa but one of the main anchors that kept me from going whole hog in that direction was that Tin was starting the Montessori School right across the bayou, and he would cross the Magnolia Bridge every day that we walked him to school. This was the mental picture that I couldn’t extract from my brain.
Well like all pictures that we paint of the future – BLOTTO – they change.
Today we got the crisis call that the school cannot re-up its lease there and has to move and it has to decide asap. BUT wait there’s more, the reason why this is a big eleventh hour crisis is that the figure head of the school and the reason why we enrolled Tin retired last month. Hmm, she failed to tell us this when we were speaking to her about Tin starting there. So now the figure head, the physical location, all kaput.
What would Wonder Woman do? She would get on the phone with every other school in this city and get Tin into a school that we want not a makeshift shadow of a school that we thought. Meanwhile, I am supposed to attend the crisis parent meeting this evening – it’s Friday for godsakes and I don’t want to – a friend and mother told me consider it a parental sacrifice and better than attending your son’s heroin addiction group meeting – she’s always trying to make lemonade with lemons that one.
I’m supposed to close on the refinance next week that is supposed to help us breathe a little easier – HOWEVER – the new school situation just put a big damper in that rosy picture as well.
Lesson learned today folks – don’t paint any future pictures, or at least sketch in pencil and color after the fact. Doesn’t this once again go all the way back to what we were talking about before – live in the now?
