Mother and Child
What better way to end a frustrating week than to have a cry fest? I put in Rodrigo Garcia’s Mother and Child and decided to watch it because I needed to chill out and I think every raw point I could possibly have in my body was piqued by my saltwater tears. Good Lord is all I have to say.
From the image of my mother failing in the hospital, to the failed adoptions, to the failed pregnancies, to Tatjana coming into my life and opening a new hope for a baby, to seeing Tin for the first time, to being a daughter, to wanting to be a mother, to being interviewed to be a mother, to getting the call when I had given up on being a mother, to being a mother of a gorgeous, beautiful child. Lord Today!
What a movie – really what a movie! And now I’m wrung out and done.
