One more reason why we live here

The day was stunningly gorgeous and sunny and beautiful. We began our day having our coffee on the front porch and watching the pelican cruise the bayou with the sun glistening off the water. We then packed all the kids up and took off to the park to stroll and then feed the kids in the bright sunshine of the day. We endure hurricanes, we offer sacrifices to the gods in the form of long drawn out evacuations, to live here and experience a January day in the sunshine, under moss draped oaks, watching birds juke and jive in the waters.

The other day at UAL, the store clerk said, “You live in Chicago?” to my friend and then added, “I want to move there.” [WHY? I asked a little too loudly.]
