What you know viscerally

When I saw Tatjana standing on the corner of Mimi’s on Mardi Gras day, I knew instantly that my life had changed. Similarly, when I first laid eyes on Tin – held up to me half dressed in a strange house by someone I had just met on the phone, I took one look into his eyes and I have never looked away. It’s not just because he was a baby or that I wanted a baby, it was Tin, I knew this with all my being.

When I drove through the snowstorm with him in the backseat and me white-knuckled to get to where we were going, I felt my mom’s presence in the car and I felt that he was part of my life before I met him. I knew that he had always been part of my life.

These are things that religion cannot describe, new age spirituality can only touch on, these are things that you know viscerally.
