Bone tired
We took a long flight home from Santa Fe, and had to wait around because of a mechanical problem that had us switching planes, I almost thought my luggage wouldn’t make it – well, you know, just because. Air travel sucks these days – it really does. Jet Blue comes the closest to making it okay but the rest of the airlines are pale pale pale.
Meanwhile, we got home to a stinky Arlene – peed all over herself and hadn’t eaten for two days. She needed soap, love and food. So she was the first priority. Then there was Loca hopping up and down vertically, trying to make sure we noticed that she was in the room – Loca’s in the house – we noticed, Loca! Then Wolfie was so excited to see us that she wobbled all around. And Bam, well Bam is on my shit list having scratched the Eames’ daybed into shreds in a couple of corners – so we taped them up and hopefully deterred him from anymore of that behavior.
Then there was putting up stuff – going to the grocery(s) – then Petco – then mopping the floor, and getting the office in shape and now we are awaiting a guest who is arriving late tonight and with us for a week.
We’re toast – done – exhausted. Good grief. The daily maintenance of a house, of a zoo, is enormous. The roses all need dead heading. The grass is so high the clovers have bloomed beautiful purple flowers along the side of the house. The black bamboo that wasn’t supposed to send runners has them all over the yard. Sigh.
Gee, it’s good to be back home again.
