The waiting is the hardest part
The server is down at Cox and I can’t get emails to go through. Jindal said they are opening up the city at 8PM this evening rather than midnight but my neighborhood still doesn’t have power and cell service is spotty. We’re going to look for battery operated fans today and plan to drive in Friday. I can work from uptown where there is electricity and we can sort out our half life even if the electricity is not back on. We’re of course hoping they get it back right away.
We’re lucky to have friends here who have given over there entire house to us. Even there cat has left, giving us wide berth to be refugees here in Atlanta.
I’ve definitely decided we’re getting a generator and not leaving next time. Re-entry is so difficult and being away is not what you’d think it would be – yes, I can work from remote areas, but it’s not the same as sitting in your own office. Yes, we have friends and family who will take us in, but guests are like fish and after three days, both stink. So home is where we want to be.
And the waiting to get home again is the hardest part.
