Another first
Tin was potty trained before we left for Spain and Ruby taught him how to climb up on the seat by himself and hold on for dear life. But he was still sleeping with a diaper and only doing ca ca when he was in bed. Today he climbed on up to that potty and said he was going to do ca ca – this was facilitated by his having a bare bottom – there is nothing like potty training during the summer when you can let it all hang out.
Tin also slept in a big bed when we got to our apartment in Zahara – didn’t flinch – he fell off once and then like a champ got used to it – and after a few days when he had a nap that he fell of twice – we placed the other twin mattress on the floor next to his bed so he would roll onto that – but he didn’t fall off again. Now he’s home and sleeping in the big bed all like a big boy!
Tin also put on his shoes himself, drank out of a big boy cup, had his first manny (Pablo), and began telling stories.
In the span of a few months he is all grown up. To think that the rest of us are mostly stalled in our development, fixed somewhere around 35-40 years of age in our minds and can’t really explain what is happening to us or the world. It’s nutty.

you’ve been through this twice so you know that it is like slam bam thank you mam – or in more tender terms – turn around and they’re a little boy going off to school (September 1 he starts Montessori!)
